So you've finally opened that shed or garage door, taken a peek into that loft space or just realised how much junk you have left over from that office move?
There are some excellent cheap alternatives to the likes of skip hire that could provide you with an even more cost-effective and in some instances free alternative to waste removal.
Local recycling points. Crawley Borough Council has 12 recycling points within the following locations: Bewbush, Broadfield, Gossops Green, Ifield, Langley Green, Maidenbower, Northgate, Pound Hill, Southgate, Three Bridges, Tilgate and West Green. Each point does vary as to what can and cannot be disposed of. The majority of the recycling points are predominately for the disposal of textiles and shoes with four of the locations covering such things as glass, paper card & cartons, plastic bottles, pots, tubs & trays, cans, foil & empty aerosols, textiles & shoes as well as books, CDs & tapes. However do be sure to check the council website and with the local recycling point before turning up with a car full of waste.
Make money from your junk or give it away for free! Surprisingly one person's trash is another person's treasure, so think carefully before you decide to bin all of your waste. With the rise of upcycling many creative individuals are on the constant look out for items they can repurpose and put back into use, so it's certainly well worth considering holding that tired old table or desk chair back for someone else to repair and enjoy. But how can you get these items in front of those individuals? Well, there are a number of ways from selling the item on the likes of eBay to giving it away on Freecycle or Gumtree.
